We want to start the Thanksgiving holiday off right – first with another great big THANK YOU for your patience this past month, and second with a ton of information about your SOLOSHOT3 pre-order!
Shipping Update
We understand that this is what you're really looking for, and we sincerely wish we had better news for you. As we approach the holiday season, there is nothing we want more than to have SOLOSHOT3 wrapped in a bow under your tree or out capturing moments on the field.

Today, we have to say BAH HUMBUG: your units will not ship until after the holidays, but all pre-orders for the standard OpticX Camera Bundles will be taken care of before the end of March 2017. More details of where we are currently are, and the plan moving forward below.
Product Update
During field testing, we came across two main issues that needed to be addressed before shipping:

  • Overheating of the Base’s main board due to computational overload
  • Difficulty maintaining perfect focus at or when transitioning between a few zoom positions.
We have a clear path to resolution on these two issues:

To prevent overheating
  • We increased number of PCB layers as well as connections between layers to better distribute heat while taking the opportunity to increase both the RAM from 1 to 2 GB, and increase the on-board memory for apps to 16 GB. 
  • We also added additional mechanical components to the Base that are specifically designed to draw heat away from the CPU while it is cranking through data that keeps you in the shot.
  • New “stay cool” Boards arrive at factory 11/28 for bring up and verification. They will go into test production units week of 12/5.
To address the focus control issues
  • We stationed a team of SOLOSHOT engineers on-site at the camera production line to optimize the camera assembly and calibration procedures. They are working through the Thanksgiving holiday, and not coming back until the OpticX calibration line is ready for mass production, which is expected to take 5 weeks.
Holiday Hours
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday this week, our Customer Support office will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25.

Our regular hours of M-F, 9 am to 6 pm CST, will resume on Monday, November 28.

We are currently experiencing higher than normal volumes, but will get back to as many inquiries as possible before the break.
As always, we want to thank those of you who have joined us in this journey over the past 15 months!  We take the responsibility of producing a high-quality product for our customers very seriously, and will stop at nothing to make sure that you have a robot cameraman that you and your family can enjoy for a long time to come. The fact that our early adopters do not yet have their SOLOSHOT3 truly keeps us up at night, and we deeply apologize for missed opportunities and events.
